Testing laboratories recognized by ICC-SRCC have met requirements for accreditation, expertise and knowledge of certification policies. ICC-SRCC works in partnership with Recognized Laboratories to provide the latest solar testing information and promote consistent testing practices. And to be eligible for ENERGY STAR® certification, collector testing must be conducted by an ICC-SRCC Recognized Test Lab.
Test reports from other accredited labs may be accepted, but they are subject to additional review and application fees.
Manufacturers contract directly with the testing laboratory of their choice to conduct the testing required for the certification of their product. Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact ICC-SRCC before testing begins to confirm the tests required for certification. Applicants who have already completed third-party testing of their collectors, systems or other components should contact ICC-SRCC directly to determine whether that data may be used for ICC-SRCC certifications.
